Add/remove system breaks missing in 4.5.1

• Mar 24, 2025 - 19:40

Just updated. System breaks look different but, more importantly, I can't figure out how to add system breaks to an entire score (or a selection). Menu item under Format is no longer there in 4.5.1.

Thanks!

Thanks; I saw that. Do you (or does anyone) know if the difference between system breaks and locked system breaks is described anywhere. Previously, the "add/remove system breaks" option added the same symbol as shown in the layout palette. In 4.5.1, the "Measures per system" option generates locked system breaks (different symbol).

I don't understand (and can't find documentation) of a locked system break.

Thanks.

A) Try it and find out.

B) Due to a brief conversation with Tantacrul, I believe that they are sort of a combination of System Break and Group Measures. Imagine you had a System Break on a given measure and added a measure full of 64th notes in the system that ended with that System Break. If the rest of the system is long enough, putting a WHOLE LOT of notes before that System Break might cause the system to break before the System Break and then break again at the System Break. I believe that the "Locked System Break" would keep that system together NO MATTER WHAT you put into those measures.

But I'm not sure, so ... see A) *G*

[A few moments later] And a moment later, he is struck by inspiration and finds https://handbook.musescore.org/formatting/systems-and-horizontal-spacing
