Playback sound just randomly disappeared from my composition
Hey all! So I was working on a piece over the last few days and I finally finished earlier today. I saved it, exported the scores I needed to send to my colleagues and closed it. When I opened it again, it refused to play back. I wanted to create the mp3 for my colleagues to hear, but it came out blank - i.e. no sound. I just finished another new (different) arrangement today and the playback is working just fine. So this leaves me wondering what went wrong with this first piece. I checked the mixer, it is showing that all the instruments are playing. I checked my sound settings. It is literally this one piece and I am rather disappointed because it is a BIG score, so rewriting it in a new project is kind of out of the question. Any thoughts?? Is it a setting that needs adjusting?

What format did you use to export for your colleagues? At least you have those as a back-up
Someone reported not long ago that for some reason the mute button was selected on the main volume in the mixer.
Without your score, it is hard to say what might have happened. Perhaps you could post the first few pages of it.

Thanks so much for your reply. It wasn't just the exported file (mp3) that was the problem. The whole piece in Musescore itself (running the newest version) refused to play back. I checked the mixer. All the settings were fine. I checked my computer's settings, no problem. I verified with anither score I had been working with and also a completely different arrangement I had just finished, no sound issues. But thisnone file I seem to have 0 sound coming from any of it and the funniest part is that it was fine just hours before when I finished working with it. I don't even know if I clicked on some random setting somewhere which turns the playback sound on and off...and I have no no idea where I would even find such a setting since the new version is very different from previous versions I was working on. Unless I send you the whole file, I don't think sending you a few pages would make any difference. What do you think?

If you make a version of the score with just 4 or 5 pages, and that version has no playback sound, post that.
