I downloaded some files for a marching percussion and it works great. the only problem that i have with it is that the bass drums are close to inaudible when playing without headphones. however, putting headphones on allows you to hear them. i was wondering if there was a way to make the bass drums audible when all the other drumline instruments are playing. i know you can do note properties but that requires me to go to each note and raise its volume and the synthesizer will achieve this at the cost of the other instruments because you have to lower them significantly to hear the bass drums.

The Mixer window is what you want - under Display for 1.X, View for 2.0.
It's probably down to your speakers.
Unless you have a subwoofer the main frequencies of the Bass Drum probably fall outside the frequency range of your speakers. This is why you can hear it better on your headphones.
Not much you can do apart from invest in a subwoofer
