after making large adjustment to slur, it becomes extremely difficult to select
It's easiest to understand this bug by watching the following video (it's the second bug mentioned):
http://youtu.be/q1RNfZbooSE
The way I caused the bug to happen was by making the slur really tall, after which it becomes nearly impossible to select with the mouse. Doing 'CTRL-A' then 'Esc' allows you to grab the slur again.
I'm using beta2 in the video, but the issue also occurs in MuseScore nightly ff2b92c on Kubuntu 14.04 64-bit.

Very good description!
I also came across this bug last week (Win7 - beta2) but couldn't remember what I did particular to produce it. Seeing your video reminded me that it's indeed what I did: I couldn't select the wanted anchor-point (mentioned bug #1) so I scaled up the slur and then it happened.
Other lines types seem to work fine. I also notice the slur often shows as selected after an edit but can't be deselected. The latter issue usually has to do with confusion over whether the Slur or SlurSegment is actually selected. The difficulty selecting it afterwards would normally be a sign we didn't call rebuildBspTree(), except it seems to me we *do* call it. So I'm not sure what's going on.
