change of length of several notes
You have several notes of different values making all a certain unit, for example one time of a 4/4 : a black pointed and three croches). You select all four and apply croches.
More simple than the method I found and show in the attached file

croches = 8th
The quickest way for the moment is to rewrite the 4 quarters from the start ;) Click on the first quarter dotted and N5CBCD and you're done. Another way is by copy pasting the 3 last notes on the rest.
More seriously, your feature request might be linked #2608.
For the moment, there is not easy way in MuseScore to "shift" time globally or in a measure. You never shift the time but you replace rests by notes or notes by rests.
Well, IMHO this is quite pointless, and the issue is very old, so let's retire it.
