Some people have this problem others don't. Unfortunately no one has been able to give steps so that everyone on mac can reproduce the problem. So far no Mac developer has been able to reproduce this.
blank print (mac) [tracked down the problem I think]
I am using Musescore 0.9.6.1 on OSX10.6.4 - this should be the latest version of both program and operating system.
I have the 'blank page' printing problem. I can, as others have done, save the file in PDF format and then use OSX's Preview program to print my scores. It would be nice however to have the ability to print directly from Musescore.
I have spent the last few hours trying to isolate and then recreate the problem and then make it go away. And I have finally succeeded.
I cannot tell what is causing it but I can reproduce it at will which I think means your programmers have somewhere to start.
Here is my testing sequence:
Start the program (with the 'Start Empty' preference selected)
Open the demo file
Execute Print/Print Preview and the files displays and prints perfectly
Open my problem file
Execute Print/Print Preview and I get the 8 inches of blank header
Note that once this error has occurred no other file (including the demo file) will Print or Preview correctly
To correct my problem file...
Go to Layout / Page Settings
It is currently set to 'Custom' - change this Letter or A4
If you try to Print or Preview now it will still be incorrect.
You must Save the corrected file and CLOSE Musescore program
Reopen Musescore
Open my problem file and/or the Demo file
Print and Print Preview now works correctly.
I have been able to reproduce the problem or the cure many times. The important thing to note is that once the program has attempted to Print or Preview a problem file (where Page Settings is set to Custom) the program will not recognize a non-problem file until the program is restarted from scratch.
I hope this will help you now trace where the bug is in the code.
Am going to post this a few times, my apologies for the repetition!
I'm having the problem with blank PDFs on A3-sized paper.
Have written a piece for a composition competition, but have to go to a printer for the scores. The printer needs PDF files, and mine are all blank.
The deadline to mail the scores is this Monday, Oct 31 2011...
Would anyone out there be willing and able to convert the scores for me? I'm thinking it would work to send the .mscz files to someone, have them 'saved as' PDF and then sent back?

Great program.
Drop me a note if you need more information.
Thanks, Bryan
I can reproduce. Thanls for the info. I looks like a bug in Qt for Mac.
I will try to make a test case and file a bug upstream.
I have this issue when my page size is letter, but not when my page size is A4.
Mac 10.6.5, MuseScore 0.9.6.3 and R. 3784

Is that possible?
Thanks, MS Community!
Seabass
Could it be a problem with PDFs in general on a Mac, rather than MuseScore?
Seabass, to keep the responses to your problem in one thread see: http://musescore.org/en/node/13404
Is this still a problem for users?
Can they try with a nightly build, or the source code for 2.0?
As there has been no response, I close this.
