Getting the correct Key Signature to Display in Parts
I have a score written in the Key of E (4 sharps). For some reason, all parts have key signatures in all sharps, when I would expect some instruments to be reflect flats... for instance, alto sax should have 5 flats, but MuseScore is forcing 7 sharps. When I drag the 5 flats from the pallet to the Sax part, it changes the whole score and the result is still not what I expect for the sax.
Is there a way to change the written key signatures for parts (File | Parts) without changing the concert pitch of the whole score?
For instance: I want the score to be in Concert E (4 sharps), but want the key of the Alto Sax to be displayed as Gb major (or 5 flats) versus C# major (7 sharps), which is what I'm getting but do not want.

In version 1.3, the same Concert E score produced flattened key signatures for the likes of
* Alto sax: Db major (5 flats)
* Tenor sax, Bb clarinet and Bb trumpet: Gb Major (6 flats)
While the Concert Pitched instruments (bass, strings, piano, flute, etc) and the F horn remained with sharpened key signatures.
Now with 2.0, all parts have sharpened key signatures.
This poses a particular problem because I now have parts in dramatically different key signatures than before. So now after updating the score, the members of the band (mostly kids) are going to get quite a curve ball when I give them the new sheet music.
As I previously said, I expect you mean Db major.
If there is an automatic way, someone will soon respond. As a workaround, you can select the whole Eb staff and raise, then lower the notes. :)
I could uase a way to do this with changes.
MuseScore 2.0 is a great product, but I have the same issue. I need concert E parts for alto sax to be in Db, not C#.
BTW my OS is Windows 8.1, MuseScore version is 2.0.0, revision 6e47f74.

Currently, there is no control over this, although I agree it would make a good enhancement. Meanwhile, though, I might question the assumption that the alto players would rather have Db than C#. Most alto players are - because of the nature of the transposition - far more comfortable reading sharps than flats in my experience.
For now, probably the best workaround if you really need a Db key signature is to save a copy of the part, then in the copy, turn off the instrument transposition and then transpose it manually.
