Adding More/ Less Stretch Problems
Hello,
I've been having some issues with adding more or less stretch to some notes. As I understand it, I just need to select the note, go to Layout, and then choose the desired option. However, as soon as I choose my option, the note is automatically unselected and nothing happens.
Does anyone know how I might fix this?
Thanks,
:)

Oh! I see now, thank you! I thought it was for adding more/ less time to a note. Very silly of me :)
Now I just have to figure out how to add more/ less time to a note...

More or less time to a note? what do you mean?
You can change a quarter to an 8th to make it shorter.

My issue is with, for example, turning an eighth note into a quarter note without affecting the notes following it. Whenever I alter the length of a note, the next next becomes shorter or longer to compensate. I would like to find a way around this, but have not yet been able to.

There is no way around it as far as I know. It's the way MuseScore works for the moment. You can't insert or delete notes and make the other shift. The best way is copy the music, change the length and paste the music.
MuseScore is quite conservative somehow. What will you expect if youchange a quarter to and eight?
All the music shifts ? If yes, how do you deal with a tuplet that ends up on a barline?
Only the current measure? just the following beat? All the voices, or just the current voice?
Same for an eight to a quarter.
