In a 4/4 measure, I can't get a quarter-rest in as the first beat.

Title Beginning a measure with a rest 1.0 measures do not delete
Status (old) closed needs info

Hi - new to this but search does not provide the answer.
I've downloaded 1.0 (note: the recent version 1.1 download button still gives you 1.0 ?).
Problem: Select a measure and right-click and the menu shows the Del option to delete the entire measure. Only, it (still) doesn't, despite all the comments I've seen from 2008 ultil now.
The main menu options to delete a measure also does nothing. My extra measures are at the end, so not in the way. But having obsolete measures in between makes the program useless.
Am I missing something?

1.1 is now available.

Think the right-click menu only shows cut (not delete).

To delete an entire bar:

1. Click the bar.
2. Edit>Delete selected measures.

'Delete' is different to 'Delete selected measures'.

The button at the top leads to download of version 1.0 (1).
The link in the help menu does lead to a version that reads 1.1 r4611, apparently just out as W7 says it has been downloaded dangerously little.
Anyway, that doesn't install: the pc cannot write QtCorey.dll

Deleting then - I might have been sleeping - probably looking for the wrong line in the menu

However, the right-click after delecting a measure does shows a delete option ['Verwijder .............Del'] in Dutch. CUT would be translated as KNIP, and 'Del' shouldn't be there then.

Thanks for getting me on track again. I'll try the update now and then to see if the .dll bug persists.

First, apologies for doing all sorts of things wrong. I placed a Q in what I now see was an existing string, didn't see the line in the Edit menu and not making myself clear.

Right-click in a measure indeed shows "Verwijder..................................Del" and that is exactly what it does, at least if something is IN the measure. But it does not delete the measure itself, which caused my confusion. If you have selected an empty measure and R-Click gives you this option, one would expect the measure to to be deleted.

Perhaps a stupid suggestion, but would it work to change the description of the R-Cl function to
"Delete content of measure.......................Del" or in Dutch
"Verwijder inhoud maat............................Del "
I know where to go now, Q can be closed - thanks all.

1.1 is indeed on the button, but it links to 1.0 version, at least that is the download manager asks me whether I want to download 1.0 (28,9)
The update function in the program goes to 1.1, but didn't install because of writing errors for QtCore4.dll
