"Windows Cannot Open This File"- "Select the Program from a List"
Everytime when I double click a musescore file, this always comes up. When I had the 0.9.5 version, I knew how to "always use musescore to open this type of files" but now, I am not sure if I am doing it right. When I try to select MuseScore to use as the default program to open these types of files, MuseScore does not show up on the list of "Other Programs". Am I doing something wrong?
I am using Windows XP SP3, running MuseScore 0.9.6 .

Looks more like a windows problem...
In the list of program displayed, there is a browse button at the bottom,
- Click on it and browse to C:\Program Files\MuseScore\bin
- Select mscore.exe
- Tick "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file"
- Press OK.

That does not work. Any other ways?
MuseScore should set these types of files to open with MuseScore when you install it. That would be a great addition. Convenient too.

DarkMagic,
what happens during step 1, as suggested by lasonic?
Have you found the "browse" button?
Have you clicked on it?

On a clean windows install, MuseScore does set the file types for MSCZ and MSCX to be opened with MuseScore. As fas as I know it should work on all the supported windows (XP, vista, 7).

kb: I have found the browse button, clicked on it, selected MuseScore, and clicked ok but nothing happened. It still remains so.
lasconic: It may be that reason that I did not do a clean install. I will try one and see what happens.

Maybe you can share a screencast so others can see what you mean. Maybe there is something you are doing differently.
