MuseScore User Group London

• Jul 24, 2010 - 20:04

This is a call for the very first MuseScore User Group (MUG) in London. Werner, Lasconic and myself are coming to London for the Music Hack Day which takes place during the weekend of September 4 & 5th. We are in town few days before, so why not have a gathering for MuseScore users, for both starters and experts?

The MUG format is still open. It can be a MuseScore workshop similar to the one we had in Bordeaux earlier this month. Or simply a Q&A session where we look over each others laptop and help solving each others MuseScore problems. Everything will depend on the place where we can meet and how many people are joining. For a workshop, a place will be required where we can sit down with our laptops. Internet connection can be very handy and as top of the bill, why not a projector. So the first question is to find a good place, somewhere central London.

If you know a place, please don't hesitate to leave a comment. We are looking for something on the 2nd or the 3rd of September. We will need your help and input to make this work. The end goad is that we all learn something new from each other and return home with fresh ideas.

After tweeting about our search for a place, Raffaele Viglianti came back to us with a great offer to host the MuseScore User Group.

What?

The goal of the MuseScore User Group is to help and teach each other how to use MuseScore. Our host facilitates a place for 20 people with internet access, so take your laptop with you, even if MuseScore is not installed yet.

6pm to ... in a neighborhood pub

This User Group is completely free of charge. The only thing we would like you to do is register by posting a comment.
Leave your name and what your expectations are for the User Group. This way we'll have an idea how many people to expect and what topics we can focus on.

I'm interested in coming to the meeting. I've only really played with MuseScore, but I'm generally interested in notation editors and music encoding.
