Having trouble using the import feature.

I just updated Musescore on my desktop and decided to try out the import feature. I picked a piece of music (Puff the Magic Dragon -- very good print out), scanned the front page to a PDF file, uploaded it and let it work. My first try did produce a result, but the chord symbols confused it and the music didn't even resemble the music. Next try I made a copy, whited out the chord symbols and cut off the extraneous text. Came back unsuccessful. I've tried multiple times since then, tweaking the copy quality and changing my scanner settings, all to no avail. I was just wondering if anyone who has used this feature can help me out and offer some advice. Thanks!
