Playback sound for recorders
Musescore 2.01 is a great improvement. I have not found anything that has not been an improvement over Version 1, except for one thing:t he playback sound for recorders.
Version 1 was pretty realistic, while Version 2 recorders sound very thin and reedy. Since most of what I use Musescore for is recorder ensemble arrangements and my group uses it for personal ensemble practice, a realistic sound is pretty important.
I believe there is a way to add new sound files and perhaps I can use sound files from Version 1 somehow. Can someone tell me how? Can files be created from sampling? Any better ideas?

Sure, just see the section entitled "Soundfont" in the Handbook You can install a different soundfont, and you can even use it just recorders if you like. FWIW, pretty much any soundfont will have better sounds than the soundfont used in 1.3, so do try some alternatives better settling on that one just because you are used to it.

Thanks for your help however I need a little more.
I've downloaded fluidR3mono and installed it into the Documents\Musescore2\soundfonts file and I've checked that it is the default sound font in View\Synthesizer. I still have the default MScore2 sound font. I have gone to Staff properties/change instrument etc. but still a have the default sound font.
Have I missed something?

FluidR3 *is* the default. If you want to try a different soundfont, you need to try downloading something else.
