In a text, use the F2 palette. Press F2 while editing, or use the keyboard icon in the text toolbar

How you type # depends on your keyboard layout .
How did you write it on this forum post? Maybe I don't understand your question.

for typing # on this forum I simply push alt+# that’s all
but when I want to type # in a chord pushing alt+#

What keyboard layout are you using (language, country)? What letter or symbol is on the key for # when you aren't pressing alt?

my KB is MAc KB not extended ( mini KB) for italian language
when I press # without pressing alt the follow character get out à
in others words à is the character typed
