MuseScore 2.0.2 for Lubuntu

I wonder... When we will have the last MuseScore 2.0.2 version full ready to install into Lubuntu (Ubuntu 15.04)? ???

I can't say when Ubuntu will grab the MuseScore 2.0.2 Debian packages for 15.04, but in the meanwhile you can install them by yourself:

I tried two different ways:
1) With Debian packages routine directly, But... it stops suddenly and nothing more happened.
2) I downloaded the last compressed file (from that web address list) and then I used the Lubuntu decompressor routine. It worked, and now I have a new folder into the "Downloads" folder, But I don't know what to do with it (I'm so new with Lubuntu).
So... in simple words: I failed to install the 2.0.2 version!!!
Help, please!!!

Could you be more specific? Can you paste the terminal output?
There are lots of ways to install debian packages on ubuntu...you might try using gdebi, which should install any necessary dependencies as well.

I used Gdebi packages installer. It seemed to work. But, when the terminal window said "All is right", a message from the main GUI told me: "You already have a previous version of this package installed in your system." And that's all I got!!!
Now, when I run MuseScore, I just get the 2.0.0 version, even the fact that in the Synaptic packages administrator I can see that I have the 2.0.0 main package and the 2.0.2 common files package, both right installed.
What's wrong here? ???

Well sounds like you already have the official ubuntu build of "mscore" installed on your system, and sounds like ubuntu is refusing to install both versions of the same program. So my suggested course of action would be to first uninstall the official ubuntu build using:
sudo apt-get remove mscore
and then install the 2.0.2 .deb via gdebi.

I did all you wrote here, and... Nothing!!!
I just got the:
"MuseScore-common 2.0.2+dfsg10ubunt Full featured WYSIWYG score editor (common files)"
package installed.
But, the main package (without the "-common" text) wasn't installed.
So... I had to re-install the 2.0.0 version (because I have to make an score to this weekend).
I just have to wait to the "official" download way!!!
That's life!!!

Oh, good luck then... It seems your system is broken somewhere :(
+my very personal opinion here: Debian is a very solid, secure and stable distribution, and I can't see the point (for most cases) on using derivatives of derivatives of derivatives of Debian, which usually has no much future. Ubuntu is also fine, but still, they all depend on Debian, 99% of their packages come from Debian and I can tell you that MuseScore package in Debian is being diligently maintained nowadays. So, please consider moving to Debian if you intend to be a regular MuseScore user in a GNU/Linux system, and if you don't really need a specific feature provided by your current derivative distribution.

Try in the terminal "sudo apt-get remove musescore-*"
Then reinstall 2.0.2 packages with gdebi again as you done before.

the official ubuntu build of "mscore" is the 1.3
the 2.0.0 and the 2.0.2 come with deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/mscore-ubuntu/mscore-stable/ubuntu trusty main (and the unstable one) available at https://launchpad.net/~mscore-ubuntu
and are prepared by musescore developers.
Have a special look at https://launchpad.net/~mscore-ubuntu/+archive/ubuntu/ppa which says
*** CURRENT STATUS ***
At the moment, due to the instability of the upstream trunk in its development stage, unstable releases are suspended.

This message is outdated. MuseScore 2 is not being packaged for this PPA because it's going to be available very soon in the official Ubuntu repositories. It's has been already built with success from Debian packages and is marked as "Wily proposed", which means it'll be auto-synced to Wily in a few days. You can even get the Ubuntu packages at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/musescore/2.0.2+dfsg-1/+build/7667… (in the bottom).
When I try installing the Debian package, It stops and says Dependency is not satisfiable: qtbase-abi-5-4-2
I downloaded this, but it wouldn't load it, either. My architecture is 32 bit.
With the debian package, there are endless dependencies. Does one have to install each and every one? If so, in what order? Installing 2.0.2 in ubuntu has to be easier than this. Right now, this looks like a Kafka-esque nightmare.
Since my last post, I have upgraded to 64 bit.

Debian:
sudo apt-get install musescore
Can't be easier :)
If you want to install Debian packages in Ubuntu by hand, you can use dpkg -i NAME_OF_PACKAGE and then apt-get -f install, which will install the missing dependencies.

In fact, it didn't work. Get this long list of unknown media files. This culminates in
Processing triggers for menu (2.1.47ubuntu1) ...
Errors were encountered while processing:
musescore
After a while, I got it installed. I had it installed once before. I have now been reminded of what happened then. In order for some other software to be installed, I would have to remove this version of musescore. Why would that be? Curious. Any answers?
Thank you for MuseScore 2.0.2! I luckily managed to install this last version on Linux Kubuntu 14.10. Don't know how i did it :-) but i used http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/m/musescore/
(post of tiagovaz). There was a error message, but afterwards i could start MuseScore 2.0.2. Great!
Yes, in spite of error messages, 2.0.2 works. However I am not allowed to update any software unless I remove musescore 2.0.2. Likewise, software was removed when I installed 2.0.2. I have Ubuntu 15.04 amd64 for the record. Do any of you know what's going on?

Hi,
Musescore 2.0.2 is officially in Ubuntu. However, it's only available in the most recent suite (15.10), codename Wily. See http://packages.ubuntu.com/wily/musescore
So, answering your question: the best you can do is adding this repository to the package manager system and install musescore from it, as you regulary do for any other package.

This makes sense, but I don't know the APT line from what you've provided.
Further, I already have this package, or one with the same name. My guess is this will sort itself out at such time as I get a later version of Ubuntu. Would anyone recommend that I get 15.10 now?
