How to play sections in the right order
I would like my one-page score with two somewhat different
melodies (call them m1 & m2) to play m1,m2,m1,m1,m2 where
m1 has 3 verses and m2 has 2 verses.
I used the numbered line endings attached and numbered I believe
appropriately, but the playback doesn't do it right. I'll
attach the score.

The endings (voltas) you have don't make sense. You can't have a second ending before a first ending, nor a first & third endings with no second. Also, you have an end repeat sign at the end of the piece, but nowhere is there a corresponding start repeat. So neither MuseScore nor a human musician reading this score is able to understand what you are trying to do.
Realistically, some roadmaps are just complicated to follow. With enough explanatory text, you can possibly get a human musician to follow (although complex roadmaps almost always lead to confusion), but MuseScore doens't understand text directions., just standard repeats. I doubt there is a way to specify the exact order of playback you list other than by writing out m1 twice.
