Will not play notes
1) Open attached score.
2) Change the third quaver to a minim.
3) Play from beginning.
The notes after the minim will not play.
Using 10.4.11 and 0.9.6.3.

I'm not sure I understand. if I change the third 8th note to a half note. I got a quarter tied to a quarter in next measure and it does play ok.

OK, I loaded up and it plays.
I now realise it only happens when you create it, but not if you re-open it (having saved it).
What to do is begin a new score - insert quavers for the whole bar, tie them and then change the third 8th note to a minim. Play it.
Can you reproduce yet? Here's a fresh post:
1) Create new piano 4/4 score.
2) Insert quavers for the whole bar and tie them.
3) Change the third quaver to a minim.
4) Play from beginning.
The notes after the minim will not play.
Workaround: Save it and reopen.
Using 10.4.11 and 0.9.6.3.

I suppose the unexpected behavior is that the tie (visually) disappears.

What do you suggest we do?
I feel the tie system needs a bit of an overhaul. For instance, it doesn't tidy up after itself if you delete the note.
There's been a few proposals about it recently.
Filled a report for another issue: #8977: No playback of tied section that doesn't initially appear in note entry
Do we think it's related? Not sure if I should file a report for this one?
