Off-screen edit warning

In Sibelius, when you try to edit an object which is not visible on the screen, a warning window appears. It would be useful to have similar functionality in MuseScore. For example, after zooming in, I press the space bar and nothing appears to happen, such as music does not start playing; space-click-drag doesn't work. However, something drastic is happening: lots of notes off-screen are turning into rests.
