Because that feature has not been developed yet. Help developing MuseScore is always welcome.
Some work is in progress for this in the next version being developed currently; this version is already able to play some ornaments (like mordents).
The issue is not so plain as, for several ornaments, the realization depends upon context, style, epoch and so on.
