Compatability with smartmusic
I do not know if smart music will let you, but it would be nice to be able to export from musescore to smartmusic like finale.

MuseScore is an open software. Smartmusic and Finale are not. Their format is protected and not open. I don't know exactly what SmartMusic can do but maybe there is an open alternative?
You can export from MuseScore as MusicXML format, which you should be able to import into SmartMusic. I've never used SmartMusic, but if it won't import MusicXML, Finale will, and you can then save the file from Finale as a SmartMusic file.
Kind of a long road to have to go, but as lasconic mentioned, the file formats of Finale and SmartMusic (and Sibelius) are all closed, proprietary formats.
