Problem with playback using quarta volta on 1st repeat only
I have a repeat with 5 repeat count, and a unique ending for the 4th time.
I have checked everything thoroughly, and tried different ways to fix it, and playback works perfectly, except on the first time, playback plays both endings.
Seems like there is just something simple I am missing.
How it plays:
repeat 1 with 1st ending AND 4th ending
repeat 2 with 2nd ending only
repeat 3 with 3rd ending only
repeat 4 with 4th ending only
repeat 5 with 5th ending only.
So it's all correct, except for playing the 4th ending when the repeat count is 1.
By the way, is there anyway to display the repeat count during playback for debug?
Thanks in advance for your kind help with this, of course, the score is attached.

I guess this falls under the category of 'complicated roadmap' where MuseScore indeed has problems.
I see that volta 4 has a repeat list of "-1,4", shouldn't that be "1,4"?
Having changed that playback seems to be OK
OOPS! (Auto-save strikes again.) I did not mean to post the score with a negative Volta property for the quarta volta! That was my creative way to try to get MuseScore to NOT play the 4th ending at the 1st time through. Of course, when you changed volta property from -1 to +1 that just reinforced it to play the INCORRECT way.
This is the desired sequence.
repeat 1 with 1st ending only [1,2,3,5]
repeat 2 with 2nd ending only [1,2,3,5]
repeat 3 with 3rd ending only [1,2,3,5]
repeat 4 with 4th ending only [4]
repeat 5 with 5th ending only [1,2,3,5].
I have attached the score I intended with, I believe, the correct volta properties for both endings, and the correct repeat count on the (last) repeat measure, which is 5. So 5 times through the repeat, but on the first time through, play the prima volta without the quarta volta.
Does it make sense? Thanks for discovering what I'm doing wrong, or maybe this is a real bug??

Try this ( see voltas ans measures properties )

OK, got it!
Here's the solution for our forum readers:
Added an open volta after the first two endings, this time with text and property to match the last repeat, which is 5, in this case, or a quinta volta.
So, for the voltas, first closed volta is repeats 1,2,3,5.
The second closed volta is repeat 4.
The last volta, open is 5.
Then, use end repeats barlines at the end of both of the closed voltas.
For the first closed volta, the repeat count is 4.
For the second closed volta, the repeat count is 2.
It almost makes sense, but I think this pattern is highly useful for you who are using voltas.
Thanks, Miré.
Hi
I have the same problems with Volta, I made a similar [1-3,5] [4], as file "1-3,5.mscz" attached, it's fine, it works. But when I changed to [1,3-5] [2], it plays wrong.
I attached the file '1,3-5'.mscz, see what should I do to make it work.
