Export to wav adds 2 seconds onto the converted file
Ver 1.3 did not do this. I've done the conversions side by side now, using the same sound font and the new version adds 2 seconds to the exported file...why would this be?

I believe MuseScore 2.0 lets the sound ring at the end of the audio file instead of cutting it.

Hmmm, ok. So is there a way to stop it doing that?

Not really. Why would you want that?

Quite simply because I use Muse to digitize choral music which often has more than one verse. When singing along I use the digitized music in a playlist on an iPad. The normal gap between the tracks on a playlist on an iPad is perfect, adding the additional 2 sec stuffs it up entirely.

You are creating spearate scores for each verse? Why would you do that? Just create it as one score, then there are no gaps.

Or join them in an Album before exporting to wav

It seems the only way to resolve this is to continue using the old version when exporting to WAV...pity, but it is what it is.

You can always trim the files with an editor such as Audacity

We do have a trip option for the image formats (-T, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/command-line-options-0), maybe this could get extended to the audio formats too?

I don't see how without the possibility of wiping out reverb tails, which would sound extremely unpleasant. Roll-in/out spaces are there for a reason - see my post in the issue tracker.

I really don't see the reason for resorting to bad sound engineering practice to accommodate one person.

Or use a better program to construct your playlist - one that allows you to customize the amount of space between tracks. That's the job of a playlist program, after all. Whereas it is *not* the job of MsueScore to create bad-sounding audio.
