Melisma affects note spacing
Using MS 2.0.2 on Windows 7 - SATB part song with piano accompaniment
I have noticed that MuseScore tries to allocate enough space for the entire lyric syllable, even if that syllable is supposed to extend to 4-5 notes with a melisma. This results in a very odd note spacing - here it's the first semiquaver which stands apart from the other three beamed notes
Is there a way to overcome this problem by a setting? Or is there an easy workaround? I am reluctant to move noteheads and stems manually...
Attached are two screenshots: the original 1922 printed Curwen edition and the current MuseScore working document. The *.mscz is also attached.
Thanks for any advice!
Dan

Looks like a bug to me (and not only the melisma 'underscore' line, also the lyrics dash, when used as an intra word melisma, if you know what I mean), and, short of manually several noteheads (see attached) there is no setting to overcome this.

Jojo, many thanks for the repaired file.
There is already an issue which describes the problem:

Ah, yes, I had completely forgotten about that #5261: Lyrics for melismas should not respace notes if there is room before next syllable and also #33246: Hyphenated melisma requires too much space
