Add a note and a rest together
I am retyping a song for a church so it is neat and in one of the songs there are two verses, one of the verses has a rest in one spot and the other verse has a note in that same spot. Is there any way I can do the same thing in musescore?

You could get the relevant symbols from the Z palette. Press Z and drag the rest (first row) and the brackets (fifth row) and the right place.
Another way is to use voices and make some of the rests invisible.
