A Sound Issue with Macbook 2015
I am having a critical sound issue with my new macbook 2015. Whenever I play my score on Musescore, the sound coming out from a build-in speaker is crackling. The sound from other applications, such as iTunes and Safari, works okay. However, when I tried to play a midi file on Garageband, with Musescore application running in the back, the same issue occurred(crackling sound does not occur when Musescore is not running). Also, I am sure that this is not a hardware issue because the same bug occurred when i tried to do the same exact things on another macbook 2015 at Apple store.

Can anyone else reproduce this? Any specific steps one needs to follow?

Hello,
I too have the same problem as the OP. I think MuseScore is really intuitive and simple to use, so to have this issue of crackling on playback is super frustrating! I often compose on the fly, but it's hard to block out the crackling noise when you're trying to think.
I'm running on a MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015), 1.1 GHz Intel Core M, OSX El Capitan 10.11.2 (15C50).
All help appreciated! I have tried the fixes such as turning down volume, turning down reverb, trying a different Soundfont all to no avail.
I've downloaded MuseScore 1.1 and the crackling is not there, if that helps narrow down the issue.
