The stable snapshot is r1503. There have been quite some adjustments after this revision, so indeed it will be buggy. Don't hesitate to post the steps so we can reproduce the bug.

Oops, my mistake. Switching back and fort different MuseScore installs eventually got myself confused. r1518 is indeed the stable release and not 1513 as mentioned in my previous comment.
Anyway, the offer is still open: if you encounter a crash, don't hesitate to report.

I use 0.9.4 on windows Vista and I enter 2 scores for the moment without a crash. So if you experience one, please post the steps to reproduce. Merci ;)
