Arpegggios

Hi,
When I drag an arpeggio symbol to a note, the note does turn red but when I release the mouse, only the very tip of the arpeggio appears on the staff?

What's happened is, you've just created the world's shortest arpeggio - only one note. That's why it's so small. You're welcome to double click it and then drag the handles apart to make it look bigger, but it's still a one note arpeggio -- not much point in that. Try creating an arpeggio that actually contains more than one note - by dragging the symbol to a chord instead of a single note - and it should look more normal.
