Playback Appears Disabled
I am running Musescore 2.0.2 on Windows 10.
I was working on a score today before I shut down my computer. Now, the play, rewind, and other buttons won't work (they are grey instead of black), and when I create a note, there is no sound. The space bar does not initiate playback either.

Never mind; it turned out to be a computer system error.

Wait, how did you fix the computer system error? I'm having the same problem

Not sure what was going on with the OP's system, but the most common cause of no playback is a faulty installation, that can be fixed by following the instructions int he Handbook under "Revert to factory settings".
I know this is an old topic, but I just found this when I ran into the same problem. In my case, it the problem turned out to be that my speakers were not plugged in properly. This apparently caused Windows to tell Musescore that no audio device was available, so Musescore disabled playback. I plugged in the speakers and restarted Musescore, and all is well.
