Possible to compose without meter, without barlines? Horizontal distance = time?

I've been searching for software for a while which could convert a midi recording into a meterless, barless score. Can musescore do this? In other words, no quantization, no guesswork at note values---just "non valued notes" that look like quarter notes or what not, spaced out horizontally as the midi events occur in time?
