Configurable playback for Ornaments & Articulations (hopefully Grace Notes and Arpeggio & Glissando too) was once mentioned after reviewing MuseScore with the Goldberg Variations (link ).
Once applied to the note(s), you would right-click whatever was applied, and select the desired playback method from a list (if there there are different interpretations).

I've attached some test cases, as they don't really playback according to how the original audio sounds.
There's lots of confusion with regards to grace note appearance and playback (probably others are affected too) - I discussed it here not long ago.
I'm not sure if the attached clip from 'This Song Has No Title' features an arpeggio, but see what you think (using Audacity - have 'Solo' enabled on the fourth track down).
Also see another example from 'Sails '.
The drop-down list would feature a few options for playback - it is images of normal notes, indicating how it would look and sound, if the user wasn't using all these things.
This would perhaps be faster and cleaner than a piano-roll, but the latter could be used if more precision, or something unavailable is required. If this occurs, perhaps MuseScore can add or refine options.
Have you looked at the CHord Articulation window CHen?
That provides customisation of ornament playback.
The only thing it lacks is the ability to save or load presets, which personally I would like to see implemented at some point.
To select playback method, what do I right-click: the grace note in the score, the grace notes palette, the grace note in the palette, … what? or is it that since I’m on version 1.3, I can’t playback grace notes?
Hi
No, this is a feature request for forthcoming versions.
Also Slurs, I think.
See this .
See this , perhaps.
Hi All, Just curious to know where I can find the status of turns playback in the development version of Musescore? Are there any plans to have this in V2?

Well slurs do jacksh-t, you can put staccato all over notes in slurs and the slurs won't care, the notes won't play legato, can someone explain to me why the program doesn't just cancel all the articulations affecting note length?
Hard to understand posts laden with profanity and thinly veiled contempt for the volunteers who have donated thousands upon thousands of their hours to create this completely free program for your enjoyment. A little more respect would help. But I gather you are asking why MuseScore honors some articulations but not all. That is because those volunteers have so far not gotten around to all articulations. Slurs in particular cannot be accurately modeled using duration only and there is no really clear standard way to do this in MIDi. But MuseScore 4 will include some additional features that go beyond the original MIDI spec and may make things like this possible.

(sorry about the one time I should've bit my tongue, I wouldn't be surprised if I was just remembering all the times that I had to do something over and over and over again because something doesn't do what it was made to do making me very very agitated...)
All the slurs should do really would be remove all the articulations editing duration and make the notes full duration. That would literally solve so many problems and save a lot of time for those people who make sheets from imported midi files and want the audio from the project to sound as good as the sheets look
Ah, you didn’t originally explain you were dealing with MIDI import. Normally MuseScore assumes if you are using MIDI rather than a notation format, it’s because you specifically want the playback info to be honored. If you’d like to remove that info, probably the best way is via one of the articulation plugins, reset all the durations to the default 950, or 1000 where you want slurs. For further help, please ask on the Support forum and attach the score in question so we can understand and assist better.
It would also be worth attaching the original MIDI file. If you don’t want the playback info it contains, and the program you are using doesn’t support MusicXML, then your best bet really is to quantify in your MIDI editor - programs exporting MIDI are usually optimized for that sort of thing. Then you’ll have a cleaner starting point for the import.
In any case, none of this is really about the behavior of articulations added within MuseScore, but is more about “cleaning up” MIDI files that were not already quantized as would normally be recommended for use in notation software. So if/when you do ask for help on the Support forum, best to make that clear - the question is about how to best clean up an unquantized MIDI.
Came up again in https://musescore.org/en/node/331273
I made a plugin to somewhat solve this issue in the meantime for arpeggios: https://musescore.org/en/project/arpeggiator
