Some of the dialog boxes in the German version have English labels on the buttons. Missing AppImage resources, translations in Qt?

Same with Afrikaans on Windows 7 32 bit. I think it is a case of some text coming from the Qt classes directly and not MuseScore itself, and that is untranslatable.

Well, no, they are indeed not part of the MuseScore translations themselves, but are part of the Qt translations, and we include those, in the locale directory you'ld find quite a bunch qt*_*.qm files.
Well possible that for Afrikaans those are incomplete or even missing (I just checked: indeed missing), but for German they are in pretty good shape.
Maybe you can help the Qt folks with an Afrikaans translation ;-)
We do have a few qt*_*.ts files in the MuseScore repository, just no means to translate them via Transifex, and we overwrite them with the ones Qt provides, if any.
The non-translated string for German got to be a problem with Qt on Linux or AppImage.
Actually even a duplicate of #104846: AppImage does not use translations on buttons in dialog windows.
And as said, for Afrikaans this need to go to the Qt folks for them to include it.
As we can't fix either, I'd rather close this issue as 'By Design', OK by you?
