Export from Musescore to Capella
Hi team :)
I use Musescore 3, and a friend of mine uses Capella She wonders if my Musescore compositions can be exported to work in Capella. I'm not sure what version of Capella she has, but she's just bought a computer with Windows 10 on board so could presumably upgrade her Capella to the newest incarnation.
Looking forwards to hearing from you :)
Many thanks,
Bill

MuseScore cannot export to Capalla's .cap or .capx formats (it can import them though), but Capella can import MusicXML format (.xml, .mxl or .musicxml) and MuseScore can export those.

Thanks JoJo, I'm giving this a go. I've sent the created file off to my friend as a .musicxml format and I'll wait for feedback.
Many thanks!

not sure whether Capella knows that .musicxml and .xml is the very same format, so maybe some renaming is needed. Seems Capella Reader 8 does though

Hi,
Musescore 3 doesn't have .xml as an export option, just .musicxml. However, it does have .mxl as a compressed file format for export. I haven't tried that one yet :)

It does have .xml export again now since 3.5 Alpha ;-)

I think I'll stick with the stable version for now! :)

Thanks! I very often use these two options - and it works fine normally!
Except the drumset! Do you have any idea to import a standard drumset-score from musescore to capella so that it sound correctly when it's played in capella?
Thank you...
