copying measures from score into documents (Word, Apple Pages)
As best I can discover the only way to put an extract of a score into a text doc is to do a screen shot and crop the picture. This seems very inefficient. It would be very useful to be able to highlight a range of measures in a score, and copy as a pdf or png and then be able to paste directly into Word from the clip board. Is this now possible in Musescore 3? or will it appear in Musescore 4?

That's the only way indeed and this will remain so. Word is not a music editor, so there's no way for MuseScore's notes and lines and all that to make any sense to it
On Windows, it would theoretically be possible to embed a live editable MuseScore score in Microsoft Word and other compatible apps using Object Linking and Embedding (OLE). However, implementing that would be a very large undertaking, so I don't imagine anyone would ever take it on.
