Duplicated icon in Ubuntu 18.04.
I installed MuseScore 3 using Snap. The .desktop file is missing the line "StartupWMClass=mscore", so that if the icon is put in the dock it doesn't create a duplicate one when launching.
Regards,
Martín.

Thanks, I'll report that. I thought the snap included a .desktop file from MuseScore.

Indeed here seems to be a good place to report this. To be clear, there's no issue with the snap. It installs perfectly. The issue is with the .desktop file that comes with it. When looking for information about bug reporting of the snap, this is what I get:
martin@martin-X541NA:~$ snap info musescore
name: musescore
summary: Create, play and print beautiful sheet music.
publisher: MuseScore✓
contact: https://musescore.org/en/support
Certainly, providing a correct .desktop file for the snap should solve the problem. I provided the missing line above.

Martín.

I don't think MuseScore provides such a .desktop file.
Edit: actually it does, see https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/blob/master/build/Linux%2BBSD/ms…

Thank you for finding the GitHub link to the file. Since I‘m new here, I don't know how to procede. Should I report this issue on GitHub as well?

No, we don't use the GitHub issue tracker, instead we use our own: https://musescore.org/en/project/issues/musescore
