Note placement

Hi all,
Is there a way to change the default presentation settings in order to recreate exactly this excerpt from Couperin, with the 8th- and half-notes colliding?

Just for the fun of it, I am curious about this notation. You can't play the G as noted without ignoring the staccato and the break. Because the notation only means that the E and the G sustain longer than the other notes, I would think that there would be other ways to write this. I don't do transcription, so I don't always understand the need to copy exactly what I see. That this was this person's answer to the problem, doesn't mean that it is the only answer. Sure, this is the composer's intent. But I don't think music is what is on the page.. I realize that is just me. I know the OP was about "how", not "why."

bobjp : Of course, there are other, much easier, ways to write this, that would still convey the counterpoint as clearly ; one only has to look at modern editions of Couperin's music to find them. I simply prefer the look of the original print, and was wondering how close I could get with musescore. The only annoying detail left is to move/add the dot of the dotted half note (first E) to the end of the bar.
