If I (by accident) overwrite a score and want to go back to the previous version, can I do that or did I screw myself?

Look in the folder that the score was saved in. you should find a backup score.

The backup score is the same as the original score, I had made a piece before the one shown.
If you are on Windows and you didn't disable OneDrive when you set up your computer, you should be able to recover older versions that way. Or, on macOS, Time Machine. Or if you're in a folder within Google Drive or Dropbox, they may provide similar functionality.

While viewing the folder with Drive, right-click the file and see Manage Versions. For more info on using Google Drive, though, best to find documentation / forums / support for that service.
Did you happen to recover it? I did the same thing. I accidentally overwrote my finished score and I don't see anything of what the people in the comments are saying. I have a mac and saved and overwrote it to my mac.
