Attempting to try out 3.5 Portable - error messages.
Please can someone help? I am attempting to try out Musescore 3.5 Portable and this is what I get:
Also, I am hoping that the Portable will not interfere with or mess up my Musescore 3.4.2 installation.
Any help would be much appreciated.
p.s. anyone know how to search just the forums and not the whole Musescore website?

You'd most probably need to allow that file to get written
And no, 3.5 portable does not interfere with an installed 3.4.2

Thank you for the reply. Whilst I suspect that that it is a false positive, it is the Ransomware Detection bit at the bottom of the attachment that I don't like and would prefer to to receive an absolute 100% definitive confirmation that it is safe to proceed rather than "probably".

It is about writing a file called "readme.txt", I can't imagine this being dangerous in any form or shape. And it is doing this into a place you told the installer to put it.
I have 3.5 and 3.5 portable on my system. As near as I can tell, they don't interfere with each other. I use the portable version to experiment with sound fonts and such. I have had a few minor problems with it going into "not responding" mode. But I'm not surprised at that.

Well, think about this error. It looks like MuseScore is trying to alter a file on your protected desktop. Could be bad. But look at the file paths. They refer to files within Musescore. Does this make sense to you? Sure doesn't to me. Looks like Avast is confused by a portable app on your desktop.
Some things to consider. The desktop has always been a place for short cuts or a temporary place to quickly store things. You can run portable apps from the desktop. But they are really made to launch from a flash drive.
I run it from my Documents folder.

I run portables directly from the desk top without problems though I don't have 3.5.
