Hear
I'm unable to hear what I've created due to the play, rewind and other aspects being greyed out and unable to click on. I've tried to uninstall and then install the app again yet it still doesn't work.

The document (https://musescore.org/en/node/96811) describes some more ideas, doesn't it ;-)?
Did you check the settings in edit->preferences...->I/O? Did you check, if a sound font is loaded? Dos it work, if you update/reinstall the audio driver? Maybe other more could help...

Yes. I have tried some of them. I haven't reinstalled an audio driver cause I don't have time to do that rn, it is literally just like 90% of the time the play button is greyed out. but I am able to play other stuff on every app excluding the downloaded version of musescore. I have never downloaded a sound font manually, and it worked fine so idk why it doesnt now. I wouldn't have thought id need to change any settings as i never did previously and it was fine.

What are you're actual settings in edit->preferences...->I/O, could you attache a screen shot? Or could attache the output, if you start MuseScore from command line: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/command-line-options?
I never had have this problem with Linux, but I could imagine, that it could occur with an update of an(other?) operating system.
But I didn't anything study with techniques, so I'm really a noob with such topics and they're only suggestions and what I read in the forums of MuseScore.
