Two different measures for different instruments.
Hello Everyone,
I'm writing a contemporary piece for Bb clarinet and Piano.
The upper stave is Bb clarinet and in the score time signature is written as 1/1 but actually 7/8 (the parenthesis tells that) and also piano is 7/8 too. It is kind of "free solo" for clarinet in that section.
How can I write different time signatures for different instruments but match in playback?
1/1 = 8 eighths also doable for piano, with "invisible" eighth note rests (workaround) but I would like to learn if there is another proper way to do it. (62nd measure in the score)
Thanks for your help.

Thank you for the information, i have looked at this topic too before posting, but it is showing
Cannot change local time signature: Measure is not empty
Should I do this for every measure and rewrite that section again?

Yes, unfortunately, it does only work if the passage is empty. Not just the specific measure of the specific staff you are adding to - all measures that would be affected need to be empty (so, from that point to where the passage in question ends). So you will need to clear out anything currently there, then add the local time signature, then re-add the notes.

Yes sadly, anyway there are only 18 measure which I only rewrite i will do that manual job.
Thank you Marc and jeete for your help 🙏🙏

For applying one, I believe parts may not be created yet.
And you'll indeed have to rewrite (at least the 1/1) part of it as copy-pasting within local time signatures isn't quite supported.
