Small notes? Not grace notes?

Bar 5 has small notes; however, I don't see a way to insert them as grace notes. Are they grace notes, or something else? I can insert them as Voice 2 notes; however, I can't make the notes small. Is Voice 2 the way it's supposed to be played?

I figured this out. The small notes in Bar 5 are an alternate melody. I inserted them as Voice 2, then in the Inspector made the notes small and mute. YAY!
