Underline under notes, but not extension of previous underscore
Sometimes, when working with volta, I find that I want to extend an underscore from text that appeared before the volta, and I can't figure out how to do this in MuseScore, not even as a work-around. (Sorry, it's difficult to explain what I mean, but I hope the attached file will clear things up.) An example of what I mean is in m. 32. I'd like the underscore from "Lord's" (in m. 30) to continue to the notes in m. 32, but I don't want it to look like it's the extension of "ris-" in m. 31, the prima volta.
Thanks for any help you can give.

You mean a lyrics melisma I guess.
And no, I don't know of a better method than what you used, but would like one myself.
Would something like this work? i copied/pasted ris- rather than typing a hyphen and your singers will probably grasp that Lord's in brackets is there as a cue rather than to be sung twice,

Good idea. Same for the "glo" in the repeat and volta before

Why not just add a line from the Lines pallet and adjust its thickness & length as required like I did in the attachment below?
Isn't that the "correct" notation in this situation?
It is what I always do in those situations where a melisma doesn't work across voltas.

These are very error prone, when reformatting the score

Re: Underquark. I like that a lot. It may actually be clearer than the melisma. I think the melisma would still be nice to be able to do, but this is a great solution. Thanks.
