New version of MSC - Breaks and spacers - palette spacer symbol missing

• Apr 26, 2021 - 01:28

Hi,
I've got the new version of Musescore/portable/x86.

Breaks and spacers palette used to have a double ended arrow icon which I used frequently to "make special" pieces of the score needed attention to. I'd indent those parts of the score by putting a space in front of a line....

The new version doesn't have double ended arrow. It has instead, a line break icon. Yeh, ok, that can be useful but I'd sure like the double ended arrow back so I can indent the front of the lines as required.

Is it here? Am I not looking in the right place? Is there a way to add that double-ended icon back into the Breaks and spacers pallet?

Thanks
C.

Thank you for your suggestion but I'll stick with portable for the following reasons:

First, I really don't like all the changes the install does to the registry (personal preference).
Secondly, those registry entries prevent a second (or other) instance of the program running whereas the portable will allow me to have as many separate/unique installs as I want.

To explain: I set up one install, with open tabs of my "traditional" music that I'm practicing. I set up another install (different directory) with open tabs for my "modern" music for the same purpose...

I put separate/unique shortcuts on my desktop to each of the installs.

So, when I want to practice my "traditional", I click that shortcut and MSC opens my traditional music practice session with all the practice scores setup in that instance of MSC. I can do the same sort of thing for my modern practice session.

Interestingly, I can start up both "versions" at the same time. Play a few traditional, switch to the other open instance of MSC and do a few modern tunes. Back and forth, back and forth...

I can't do any of the above to the "non-portable" because of the registry entries..
