Streamline the updating process
Unless I am mistaken, the process for updating the app consists of clicking the link in the pop up (upon opening the app), clicking and waiting for the download, opening the file from the downloads folder, and then replacing the older version with the newer in the applications folder. It would be awesome if the updating process could reflect that of Discord or Google Chrome, where a button will appear (lit up in a contrasting color so it's noticeable) when the app has an update and all you need to do is click the button and the app will restart and take care of the rest.

What OS are you referring to? On Windows, there is "replacing the older version with newer in the applications folder"; everything happens perfectly automatically. You also shoudln't need to manually run anything from the Downloads folder - that should happen automatically as well.

I had Mac in mind when I wrote that but I use both platforms and the updating process (for me at least) has been essentially the same across the two OS’s. Am I doing something wrong?

Well, on macOS the automatic update from 3.6.1 or earlier to 3.6.2 is broken, see #318327: Sparkle automatic updates for macOS disabled in 3.x (it got fixed post 3.6.2, so not yet in any released version). 3.6.1 was never offered as an auto update IIRC.
