How can I simulate the violins from this song?
I'm wondering if there is any way I can simulate the violin from this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8ffoRVKV4s at the minute 1:46.
I don't know much about violin, but it sounds like the violin is played in a really fast, violent and detached way.
I tried to put sfz, and the staccato point, but the sound that the violin makes in Musescore still is no where near as the one in the song.
So I wanted to ask if that way to play the violin has an actual name, and if it is doable in Musescore using what there is in there.
Or in case it is not, if there is any way to do it.
Thank for the help in advance!

You had the right idea with the staccato and dynamic, but I think the closest you'll get is with a non-default soundfont. With some quick testing, I found the "Violin Solo" patch from Aegean Symphonic Orchestra to be close to the violin sound in the song. You can get ASO from here: https://sites.google.com/view/hed-sounds/aegean-symphonic-orchestra. See here for how to install soundfonts: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/soundfonts-and-sfz-files. Also see here for how to change the sound of an instrument without changing the instrument itself: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/mixer.

I installed it, and it worked, but I don't quite understand which instrument from the mixer I have to choose.
But anyway Thank really much for the help installing Soundfonts, I managed to successfully install both the one you gave me and a didgeridoo ahahahahahah!

When you select the sound dropdown from the mixer, you should be able to scroll down and find the one labeled "Violin Solo". You can also press "V" a number of times while the dropdown is open to skip through only the instrument sounds that start with "V".
Glad you found some sounds you need though :)

there are a lot of violin, but I can't find anything called "Violin Solo", I'll try to check if I installed the good version of the link you gave me.

Ah, it appears I was using an older version of ASO. Try downloading version 3.5 from here https://sites.google.com/view/hed-sounds/aegean-symphonic-orchestra/old…. It should have the sound I was talking about. They must have removed it in the latest update.

Here is just the solo violin from Aegean. Frankly, I don't much like it, but you know.
The more fonts you have loaded the harder it is to find instruments and the longer it takes for MuseScore to start and load into a score. Personally I use the default font and solo trumpet and horn from another font because there aren't solo versions of those. The standard answer is to repeat the first letter of the instrument. But that is sluggish too. I use a rollerball mouse and just move quickly through the list.
The other problem is that other fonts don't respond to SND.

Oh I see I found it!
It sound actually pretty good, not 100% identical to the song there, but still very similar and great.
Thank for the help!*

An Arco violin (attack Violin) or Arco Strings (attack strings) patch in an sound-font (if it contains it) will work.
The violin in the old ASO sounds like this because the modulators are (incorrectly) played at maximum level due to the Musescore's SingleNoteDynamics settings.
