Add a Staff to a score
I have a piano score with a treble staff and a bass staff. In Bar xyz I want to add a third staff because it makes reading the score easier: the right hand is playing once high in the treble then again low in the base. So I want the second staff for the left hand and the first and third staff for the right hand. How do I add this third staff starting only at bar xyz?
Example is second Etude by Philip Glass, Figure 4. But Rachmaninoff does it too, etc.

Press I and in that dialog add a staff to the instrument, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/create-new-score#add-staff

So, thank you Jojo-Schmitz e grazie Soichi. But…!
I tried your two steps. Now, if I have one hand silent for several bars in the normal two-staffed piano score, that hand's staff will disappear as well. The complete solution to getting a third staff only for a certain section of the score is the following:

My solution isn't perfect either. It only works if you stretch the music so that the part with the three staves spans whole lines. I would prefer the hiding of staves per bar or, better still, the setting of an additional staff per bar.
