Change Instrument glitch + help?
There are parts of the song I'm working on (like it occurs only three or 4 times) where I wanted to add a 'change instrument' line to avoid adding an entirely new instrument/stave.
Issue 1: At some points, when I've tried to add this it starts a sort of...feedback loop? I click add, the box stays popped up, and no matter how many times I press escape/cancel, it just stays there until it feels like it I guess? Eventually when I do get it to close, there's a huge line of 'change instrument' filling up the page (see pic).
Issue 2: I'm wondering if there's a more effective way to keep the change instrument confined to, say, one bar, when I have already filled in bars after it with the main instrument. I eventually tried preemptively adding a change instrument to the main instrument, so that I could then add the actual instrument change without it changing the whole rest of the piece, but this only seems to work sometimes.
Issue 3: The sound I'm trying to achieve is a hand clap, but it comes out as this weird sort of horn-sounding noise? I previously experimented with like the finger snap and other ones, and their noises were a) not the sound I'd selected, and b) would change within the section I'd applied it to. So different notes would play as different sounds. Does the app just not have the real percussion sounds or is there somewhere else I need to change it?
I'm probably using it wrong, but I really can't find it in the handbook no matter how many different ways I look it up XD.

Better attach the *.mscz file. Select a note, not the measure to add the Instrument change (as far as I can see from the image).

I tried it again to see if selecting the measure was what was causing the loop and it didn't, so I have no idea how that happened before...
Here's the file, I think I've pretty much got it figured out except for the instrument noise. There are three points throughout the song where I switch from voice to hand clap (and back), and if there's a way to have them make a noise that's even a little more percussive than the strange horn they are right now I'd be happy with that.

Can you give precise steps to reproduce the problem with the loop? I've loaded your score, now what?
Regarding the hand clap, I think the issue is changing from a standard to percussion staff but adding notes before the change. So the pitch of the note you added is entirely wrong,. Delete those notes and re-enter them and it they will be hand claps.

Re-entering the notes was exactly what I needed to do; thanks!
As for the loop, I genuinely have no idea how it happened before, but it seemed to be inconsistent, and nothing I try now causes it. If it ends up happening again with another file I'll post it to see if someone can figure it out.
