Linking MuseScore to EaatWest Play or Opus, Kontack or any 3 party library
Your scoring UI is exceptional and very intuitive. However the sensitized sounds in your library, as compared to orchestral samples, is wanting. I believe that until there is a easy and intuitive way to utilize sampled liberties your system remains incomplete.

The good news is that one of the main features of MuseScore 4 is exactly that: adding support for VST instruments, which would allow you to use samplers such as Kontakt. MU4 is still under development, but the work that has been done so far for VST support is very promising!
Ah...spellcheck. It is true that in years past, MuseScore used General Midi (synthesized) sounds. But lately, sampled sounds are included. True, not as good as Eaat(?)West. We all look forward to V4. But, even the best sounds can't help if one doesn't know how to make the software get the best use from them.

General MIDI is an instrument list standard, not a synthesized sound definition.
And MuseScore uses (for many years) soundfonts that pretty much all consist of samples of the real instruments as well.
But yes soundfonts don't have the expressive abilities of VSTs and VST3 support is being tested in a limited group at this moment.

Thanks. I should have said GS Wavetable. Or something akin to it.
My only point is that knowing how to use what you have can be more important than what it is that you have. I am more interested in having more ways to manipulate the font. Regardless of what that font is. For example: A professional violinist can pick up a student quality instrument and make beautiful music with it. I am quite used to marking up a score to get the software to playback the way I want. These scores are nothing like the ones I would hand to real players.
But better fonts (whatever that means) are always welcome.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, I don't know squat about "fonts". Perhaps in time that won't be the case. I write primarily orchestral and choral works using EastWest Symphonic Orchestra and Chorus. These sampled instruments are considered to be among the very best available. I understand that version4 will allow us to connect to vst2 and vst3 libraries and for me that's good news.

Currently there is only support for VST3 in version 4.
