Anacrusis

I know how to add an anacrusis to the beginning of a piece, but how do you deal with a subsequent section? I know I can get round it if I have a 1st and 2nd finish to my first part, but I think it looks neater to finish one section and start the next with a new anacrusis.
Oh, and is there a way to prevent playback from making long pauses at line breaks? I thought trying one of the other views might work, but it doesn't.
