Uneven System Spacing
On this score, the spacing between 1st and 2nd systems is greater than the others. Can I make them the same? I know that I have more lyrics in the 1st system and that makes that system deeper but I'd like to remove the excessive space between the first two systems. I'm not aware of any hidden items in that space.
Thanks for any help you might provide.

There is some weirdness going on with vertical lines surrounding the chord symbols in measures 1 and 2. If I use CTRL+A to select everything then CTRL+R to reset everything to its default position the stave spacing becomes even, but those vertical lines now no longer surround the chord symbols. What are you trying to show with those lines? There is likely to be a better way to do what you want that does not upset the stave spacing.
[Edit] It's probably nothing to do with those lines. If I delete them it doesn't fix the stave spacing problem. There must be something that has been moved from its default position and MuseScore is making room for it, but I can't see what it is.

So I use vertical lines around chords in many of my scores to show that (on accordion) it is just the chord and not alternating bass note and chord. It's an emphasis. This hasn't been an issue on other scores. I agree with the [Edit] but I can't find anything in the space (or don't know how!)
I suppose I can try to reenter the score as a new document and see what happens with the standard defaults.
I appreciate your help.
In the trumpet staff, measure 1 had some bad staff text and measure 5 had bad text plus dynamic.
I deleted the bad stuff here: Harmonica2.mscz
Also, why those lines at the chord symbols in measure 1?

That's it. I found them as well.
For the OP. You can find these invisible items by moving through the score by holding ALT and using the left and right arrow keys. This moves through the score selecting each element in turn and its details are shown at the left of the status line (at the bottom of the screen). If you do that from the start of the lower stave you will see the status bar showing staff text and dynamics as @Jm6stringer describes. You can delete these text items while they are shown as selected in the status bar.

The status bar as well as the Inspector indicates these weird gremlins.

Thanks so much for info and how to scroll through the elements. I get it now. You guys have been great. Thanks.
There are some empty dynamic markings and staff text in the trumpet bar 5 that are also dragged way out of position, and that's what MuseScore is allocating space for. Just select that measure and hit Delete to remove them.

Wow - I guess I just seem to have trouble finding wayward data! You did solve the problem and I appreciate everyone's help. As I noted before, my group for decades has been signifying a break in the rhythm (and the left hand accordion) with the lines around the chord symbol.
Thanks again. Sooner or later I hope to get all this figured out. The program is amazing and, I suppose, that also makes it complex.
