Leland font looks kinda gross when printing as PDF

• Nov 1, 2022 - 00:30

Hey! The Leland font looks great! In Musescore, at least. When I "print to PDF," it comes out pixelated, a good bit worse than whatever it was in... 2019 since that's what I'm comparing it to. Is this a known issue? Any fix? Attaching pictures of the old and the new. It's particularly noticeable at the bottom most curve where there's a chunk missing that leaves a sharp edge, and the jaggedness on the top. This doesn't show up if you're viewing in Musescore, just when printing to PDF.

Those look like different fonts. If you print the PDF is it still pixelated etc.? I'm just wondering if the problems you are seeing are due to the program you use to view PDFs.

I chose Leland, exported to PDF, viewed using Okular, took a screen shot and then cropped the image and saved in Kolourpaint, The clef looks smooth and correct, which suggests that (my) MS is exporting PFDs OK.

They are different fonts; my point was only that whatever font was default to Musescore in 2019 looked less pixelated than Leland. I was thinking the same thing, so I tried printing via Master PDF editor 5, then Microsoft print to PDF and viewing it in different browsers and the PDF editor. Haven't tried Adobe yet as it needs to update.

I'll be printing a whole bunch of stuff this week, otherwise the stuff I have in front of me isn't noticeable. Perfectly possible it's something I did and not musescore.
